Back into the Mines!
Right now, I know there are 33 guys in Chile that would probably rather fight a Great Wyrm Red Dragon than get back into a mine, but after seeing their harrowing ordeal and joyous rescue, I thought this set might be something gamers might want to see again.
The entire ordeal brings to mind several possible encounters and a complete adventure. Sure, some races are equipped, nay, bred for life underground, some are not. In fact, some characters and races will have adverse reactions to prolonged time underground.
Imagine a wood elf, cut off from, not only her woods, but fresh air and sunlight? A sun god’s cleric? He’s bound to snap after a few weeks away from his chosen deity.
Add in some homesick NPCs, a poorly provisioned party, and serious examination of just how few ranks you put into your survival skill and voila! A potent concoction of tension and violence. And there’s not a monster in sight!
Awesome. New to the site and hadn’t seen this one before. Many thanks and way to capitalize on current events!
