Open Boardgame – Updates

I’m pushing away at getting a working game finished. In the meantime, I need a name for the system itself.

I’m a little stuck. The board is hexagon based, so I’ve been trying like mad to fit “hex” into the name. I thought I’d scored with “OpenHex” but there are other projects using the name.

So, I’ll throw it out to the community at large. Ideas? Be sure to throw the name into Google to see if anyone’s using it already. If it’s trademarked, it’s definitely out. If it’s not, well, I’d rather not horn in on someone else’s project.

In unrelated news, I do have a terrain set in production, so I haven’t left that behind. Look for the new cobblestone set soon (and break up the monotony of the standard “tile” look).

  1. Related to the board game, anyone out there savvy on XSL-FO? I do a lot of XML->HTML transforms, but getting it into a PDF is still a little new to me.

If there’s anyone out there with the skills, let me know. I’d like to get this content into XML to make generating game and player cards easier.
