Got an email earlier this week to check out Sonic-Legends.com. And it’s fantastic!
Excellent source of loopable gaming music, written by gamers! The prices are great and you can score a whole library of music for about the cost of a CD. I highly recommend checking it out. I’ve long extolled the virtues of using music in your games, now someone’s made a resource just for us! My personal favorite: Elven City at Night.
If you’ve got a site you’d like me to check out, please feel free to email me. I’m always on the lookout for new toys (and a link back to yours truly would not go unappreciated).
Draconomicon: Metallic Dragons describes several varieties of dragons, including gold, silver, copper, iron, and adamantine dragons. It also introduces several other kinds of metallic dragons suitable for any D&D campaign.
This supplement presents dragons both malevolent and benign, and gives details on each dragon’s powers, tactics, myths, lairs, servitors, and more. In addition, this book provides new information about the roles that metallic dragons fill in a D&Dgame. Story and campaign elements in the book give Dungeon Masters ready-to-play material that is easily incorporated into a game, including adventure hooks, quests, encounters, and pregenerated treasure hoards.
Personally, I love using metallic dragons as both benefactors and “chess players,” moving your PCs around in their own personal games. But I’m also keen on using “polymorph self” to keep their identities a complete secret until that last, crucial (and often bloody) moment.
Three releases this month, all dated for October 20th. Click the links below to pre-order them today!
Primal Power – This must-have book is the latest in a line of player-friendly game supplements offering hundreds of new options for D&D characters, specifically focusing on heroes who draw power from spirits.
Prince of Undeath – In this adventure, the demon lord Orcus tries to usurp the Raven Queen’s power over death using a shard of evil plucked from the depths of the Abyss.
Dungeon Tiles: Sinister Woods – Easy to set up and infinitely expandable, this pack allows you to create the dungeons and adventures you want to play.
One of those egregious omissions in the Stone Kingdom terrain set has been rectified. You can add 30-, 45-, and 60-degree turns to your castle and dungeon corridors. I’ve also created a 3-way junction using the 60-degree turns for added spice.
I’m not including any rules for how to use the triangular “gap” space in the turn, I’ll leave that up to you game masters. If you have a suggestion, please feel free to comment on this posting and share your idea.
Gotten behind on these and that’s a bad thing, especially when this month’s big release is the Dungeon Master’s Guide 2!
From Wizards: This core rulebook for the Dungeons & Dragons® Roleplaying Game features advice and rules for Dungeon Masters of all levels of experience, with a particular focus on running adventures and campaigns in the paragon tier (levels 11—20). It includes advanced encounter-building tools (including traps and skill challenges), storytelling tips to bring your game to life, new monster frameworks to help you craft the perfect villain, example campaign arcs, a comprehensive look at skill challenges, and a detailed “home base” for paragon-tier adventurers–the interplanar city of Sigil.
I’ve seen some of the maps included in the book, and I’m seriously jealous!
OK, there’s not nearly enough “Modern” content, so here’s a list of plausible modern street names. Just so your PCs get ahold of the right gangster this time.
I’m on a much needed vacation, so any messages or comments you leave, may have to wait for a bit for a response.
